Born Adolf

A prominent Czech painter, illustrator and cartoonist.

Adolf Born was born on June 12, 1930 in České Velenice and died on May 22, 2016 in Prague. After studying art education at the Prague Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University, he moved to the Academy of Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts to the studio of A. Pelc. His dry needle, etching and distinctive merry lithographs are famous all over the world. Born`s most common motifs have become all sorts of peculiar beings and various colourful animals. Born's best-known works include book illustrations of fairy tales by Miloš Macouk or Vojtěch Steklač.
