Kopecký Bohdan

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under prof. Nejedly. In the 1950s he was described as an opponent of socialism and worked as a miner. The landscape of the Most region became an inspiration for his work. He was also politically active during the Prague Spring and the result was a ban on exhibitions and work in the promotional department of the collective farm. After 1989 he fully returned to free creation. He is one of the leading Czech landscape painters of the 20th century.

He met important personalities of Czech culture, such as Karel Šiktanc, Emil Juliš, Jan Skácel, Ota Pavel, Ludvík and Milan Kunder, Josef Sudek, Jaroslava Moserová and others.
