Herold Martin

Martin Herold's work unfolds in thematically closed cycles. The pointed pixels often represent the author in a spatial installation. The themes of his paintings are based on the observation of his immediate surroundings and the tide of the media image. The current range of paintings templates the abstract language of architecture, but the realistic depiction of existing places leaves them with narrative content.

Martin Herold is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He studied in the ateliers of Michael Rittstein, Jiří Petrbok and visiting teachers Silke Otto-Knapp and Florian Pumhösl. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
